2020 $2 UNC – WWII End of War commemorates the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, marking a pivotal moment in global and Australian history. On 2 September 1945, Japanese officials formally surrendered to Allied forces, bringing the war to an end.
Australia’s involvement began on 3 September 1939, with nearly one million Australians serving during the conflict and over 40,000 lives lost. This commemorative design reflects both remembrance and hope for peace.
The reverse features symbolic elements including a map of the South East Pacific and Asian region, a dove of peace, a band of colours representing the three Australian armed forces, and a seven-pointed Commonwealth Star. The obverse bears the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Jody Clark.
These coins have been sourced as loose coins and carefully selected in Uncirculated (UNC) condition, then housed in a NextGen Collectors Coin Capsule for protection and display.
